Apple has started a free repair program for iPhone 6S handsets that have been unexpectedly shutting down. And which device were manufactured between September and October 2015, are eligible for a free battery replacement.
In according to Apple’s announcement, they have determined that a very small number of iPhone 6s devices may unexpectedly shut down and If your iPhone 6s has any damage such as a cracked screen which impairs the replacement of the battery, that issue will need to be resolved prior to the battery replacement. In some cases, there may be a cost associated with the repair.
Before heading into a store, Apple advises iPhone 6S device owners to back up their data, erase settings, and turn off Find my iPhone. Checking whether your iPhone 6S is eligible for the free repair requires a trip to an Apple store or authorized service center. Phone network are not a part of the service program.
Apple is also offering refunds, If you have already paid to replace batteries for the same issue and your phone manufactured between September and October 2015.
